For the second year in a row The People’s United Bank Community Spirit award was presented to the Lakewood Estates neighborhood in the new north end of Burlington shortly after the race in 2015. Members of the Lakewood Estates neighborhood were presented with a banner that they can hang proudly during the 2016 marathon. They also received a $500 check to be donated to the charity of their choice. Who will rise to the challenge? will it be the folks on Foster Ave, South Cove, South Union or South Willard? We know you have it in you to get your neighborhood in the marathon spirit! Our runners need you!

The community spirit award is given to the neighborhood who:

  • Does something remarkable to keep the runners motivated and entertained
  • Cheers the loudest
  • Has the most participation
The winner of the 2016 Community Spirit Award will be presented with the People’s United Bank Community Spirit banner, bragging rights and a $500 donation to the charity of their choice.
