The People’s United Bank Community Spirit award was presented to the Lakewood Estates neighborhood in the new north end of Burlington shortly after the race in 2014. Members of the Lakewood Estates neighborhood were presented with a banner that they can hang proudly during the 2015 marathon.
The community spirit award is given to the neighborhood who:
- Does something remarkable to keep the runners motivated and entertained
- Cheers the loudest
- Has the most participation
