Timing & Runner Tracking
The M&T Bank Vermont City Marathon 3-5 Person Relay, Presented by Darn Tough Vermont, will be timed using tagged snap bracelets. Our ability to provide accurate timing and essential medical assistance when necessary depends on you.
Follow these important steps:
- All relay teams will receive a snap bracelet with a timing chip attached to the back. These are the official and only accepted timing devices for the M&T Bank Vermont City Marathon & Relay, including the 3-5 Person Relay, Presented by Darn Tough Vermont. Relay teams will also receive one chipless bib for each participant on the team. These bibs are for identification and to allow participants to access race services.
- Complete the emergency contact information on the back of your bib. This information may save your life.
- Carry the snap bracelet baton, either in your hand, on your wrist, or attached to your body. The snap bracelet baton will be passed from teammate to teammate during the race.
- Pin a bib to the front of each teammate.
- Keep your bib visible at all times.
- Your chipped snap bracelet baton will be read at the start, finish, and intermediate locations. Your chipped snap bracelet baton must cross all locations to receive an official time.
- All teammates must be registered to participate.

Relay Shuttle Buses
Relay shuttle buses will be available to transport 3-5 person relay participants to and from the Leddy Park Darn Tough Relay Exchange Zone. Buses will begin transporting fifth-leg participants from the North Street/Drew Street intersection starting at 8:15 AM. Participants will be dropped off at the west side of the Hannaford parking lot, located in the Ethan Allen Plaza, near an open gate leading to a well-marked path to the Leddy Park Darn Tough Relay Exchange Zone (adjacent to the tennis courts). Buses will also be available to transport participants who finish their relay leg(s) at Leddy Park to the North Street/Drew Street intersection, which is approximately one block north of Battery Park. From there it's a 5-minute walk down Depot Street to Waterfront Park.
Gear Check
Secured Gear Check is provided for marathoners and relay participants and will be available near the finish line in Waterfront Park. You will attach the tear tag on the bottom of your bib to any small-sized bag. Do not leave bags of any kind unattended outside Gear Check - our security procedures require that any items left unattended will be removed immediately and destroyed.
Gear Check is intended for race day gear (warm-ups, post-race clothing). We promise to take good care of your possessions but urge you not to check your valuables. Please be reasonable with the size bag you check, we're not capable of handling luggage!
Claim your bag as soon as possible after you complete the race. At 2:30PM unclaimed gear will be transferred to the RunVermont office (One Main Street, Suite 304, Burlington). Items not claimed in one week will be donated or discarded.
