RDY2RUN COACHING & TRAINING

Whether you are new to running or have run several marathons, RunVermont offers several training plans to help you achieve your running goals. These plans provide you with sound fundamentals to help you get the most out of your miles.

Our Marathon Coach will guide you in getting to the marathon finish line, all from the comfort of your home. He will share a passion for running and offer years of experience based on working with hundreds of runners. As a member of our marathon training group, you'll have access to one-on-one coaching, group online discussions, helpful tips, and insights to help you meet your running goals.

How Rdy2Run Works

To gain access to our Marathon Coaching Program, you will need to register for the Marathon Event. During the registration process you'll have the option of signing up for our Marathon Coaching Program. As a member of the Program you'll be invited to a private Facebook group where online discussions will take place. You'll also be connected to your coach via email so you can start receiving training tips and developing your personalized training plan.

Each training program below is offered as a complimentary service so feel free to download! Our only request is that you consider joining the Runners Alliance as a means to enhance your safety on the roads.

All our plans have been crafted to provide progression over a reasonable time period allowing for physical development without undue amounts of stress. These plans are fairly basic and designed to get you across the finish line. For more in-depth training, we recommend you sign up for the Marathon Coaching Program.

Meet The Coach

Marathon Coach: Sam Davis

USATF Certified Coach Sam Davis has been running competitively for more than 40 years. His accomplishments include being a collegiate cross-country champion, as well as a former record holder in track. He is a respected member of the RunVermont Hall of Fame and has completed over 27 marathons (including four Vermont City Marathons) and countless half marathons. Coach Davis has PR's of 2:32 and 1:08 in the marathon and half marathon distances. To prepare for the coaching realm his education includes; Level II Certification from USATF, Level II Certification from Road Runners Club of America, Level II Certification from Lydiard, a VDOT 02 Certification in the Jack Daniels Method, and a USECA Certification.

"I believe that one size does not fit all when it comes to training. I strive to customize training programs to an individual's lifestyle and include factors such as running age, past injuries, and long-term goals. I have learned more from my mistakes than from my successes and work to apply that knowledge to help runners achieve their goals."
