Every Memorial Day Weekend, more than 7,500 runners, 20,000 spectators and 1,700 volunteers come to Burlington Vermont for the M&T Bank Vermont City Marathon & Relay - the second largest marathon in New England and the largest marathon relay in the nation. The course design allows specators to easily see runners at various mileage points during the race. The electrifying energy brought from the Taiko drummers, Burlington neighborhoods and the Church Street Marketplace provides a community experience unlike any other marathon event. The course takes runners along the Adirondack and Green Mountain-framed shores of Lake Champlain for unmatched scenic beauty.
