RunVermont’s Youth Director
This individual serves as the overall leader of RunVermont’s Youth Programming and events, including, but not limited to:
- Mini Milers – 10-12 week program serving children ages 4-12 as they engage in weekly activities to learn about and practice fitness, good nutrition, citizenship, and goal setting all while having fun and being safe.
- Mini Marathon – a fun-filled morning of running and excitement as RunVermont hosts the Timberlane Dental Mini Marathon. Children ages 4 to 14 can come and share in the marathon excitement on the day prior to the People’s United Bank Vermont City Marathon & Relay. Distances include a Half-Mile, and One-Mile Fun Runs as well as a Two-Mile timed event.
- Junior Milers – a 12-week training program, for youth ages 11 – 18 to participate in the relay portion of the People’s United Bank Vermont City Marathon & Relay. RunVermont partners with local youth organizations to encourage and facilitate youth to train and run the 3-5-Person or Half & Half Relay
The Youth Director is responsible for all programming, volunteer & leader recruitment and training, budget administration, registration planning and implementation, safety programs and will report to the Executive Director of RunVermont. The position is a seasonal (mid-December to mid-June) part-time position that requires 20-25 hours per week, some exceptions around event dates.
