Looking for a fun way to get your long run in on April 14?
If you are training for the People’s United Bank Vermont City Marathon chances are you need to get a 20 mile run in on the weekend of April 14. A fun way to do this would be to sign up for Half Marathon Unplugged and add some extra miles to the race by running to the start.
Reasons to use a race as a part of your long run
Practice your pacing
Practice eating and drinking while in a race environment. Three Aid Stations are on the course stocked with All Natural Athletic Fuel from Untapped.
If you are new to racing, you can practice running with 900 of your closest friends!
Practice your pre-race port-let strategy.
Finish your long run with a hot meal and a beer from Switchback Brewing.
How to make it happen
Register for Race at www.runvermont.org
Pick up your race bib at SKIRACK April 11-13.
Make sure to allot enough time to run at and easy pace.
Check any clothing you would like to shed before the race on Gear Check Bus
Keep moving to stay warm
Line up at Race Start, and away you go!
Finish the race knowing you got a great long run in.
Grab your gear from gear check tent, and now it’s time to refuel!
Take our Shuttle Bus back to your car at One Main.
