With the arrival of the New Year, and in anticipation of the 30th edition of the People’s United Bank Vermont City Marathon & Relays, RunVermont is pleased to announce that the Timberlane Dental Group will be assuming new partnership positions with the event bringing new energy to the country’s largest marathon relay.

“Relay runners will notice some great enhancements to the race experience this year,” relates Peter Delaney, Executive Director of RunVermont. “With the support of the whole Timberlane Dental team, we’re able to provide timed splits for every leg of the relays. Perhaps even more exciting, every runner of the three to five-person relay event will receive a race medal!” RunVermont anticipates that there will be over 5000 runners in the marathon relay events.

In addition to their support of the marathon relay, Timberlane Dental will be the title sponsor of RunVermont’s youth running activities. This includes the Mini Milers,  a 10-week program for children ages four-eleven, that provides an introduction to running as a healthy activity and incorporates components of proper nutrition, healthy choices, and teamwork. Memorial Day weekend will offer the Timberlane Dental Mini-Marathon (formerly the Yam Scram), which will take place in Burlington’s Waterfront Park, home to the finish line of the People’s United Bank Vermont City Marathon.  The event features a Half-Mile and One-Mile fun for run ages four to fourteen as well as a 2-Mile timed, competitive race for runners ages nine to fourteen.

RunVermont’s Director of Youth Programs, Aliza Lapierre shares, “Having a sponsor such as Timberlane Dental Group is an honor as they too are focused on keeping children healthy right from the beginning.”  Echoing the same sentiment Dr. Bryan Connolly states, “Timberlane Dental Group is excited to continue our relationship with RunVermont and to have the opportunity to expand our sponsorship of RunVermont Youth Programs. Timberlane Dental encourages activities that promote health in the community and the programs at RunVermont are a terrific example of how health and community support can come together. We look forward to sponsoring such an extraordinary event.”

RunVermont is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization committed to the promotion of running as a life-long activity through complementary programs that celebrate the athletic spirit, are recognized nationally, and embrace the Vermont community. In addition to its premier events; Peoples United Bank Vermont City Marathon and the Timberlane Dental Mini-Marathon, RunVermont presents the FirstRun 5k each January, Half Marathon Unplugged in April, and Island Vines 10k in September.
