RunVermont is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Switchback Brewing Company for April’s upcoming Half Marathon Unplugged. One of Vermont’s most popular early season road races, and now in its 9th edition, the title of the event will now be the ‘Half Marathon Unplugged presented by Switchback Brewing’. The post-race festivities will take place on the Switchback lawn, immediately adjacent to the finish line, and each entrant’s registration will now include one beverage – along with our usual post-race food and fun. The brewery will be open for tours and Switchback’s beautiful new tap room will be open for business for runners and spectators. 20140412_bdb-unplugged_093114-SkiPix-copyright-14

Switchback Brewing Company, now in their 13th year, is a proud member of the Vermont craft brewers family. Known for their unfiltered ales, pints of Switchback have become one of the top sellers at bars and restaurants in the Burlington area and throughout the Northeast. And as of late 2012, you can also find their flagship ale as well as rotating specialty brews in 22oz bottles on retail shelves. For more information on Switchback, please go to

The Half Marathon Unplugged began as a “supported training run” event for RunVermont’s Marathon 101 class, and was first contested in 2007 by 216 runners. For 2015 the field will be capped at 1700 entrants, and features a unique 2-wave start concept with half the runners starting at 9am and the other half at 11am. This point to point course from Airport Park in Colchester to Flynn Ave in Burlington is mostly flat and has been popular with both experienced racers as well as runners who are new to this distance. Runners find the race and course a perfect way to challenge the half marathon distance.

Registration for this event opened on Monday January 12th and spots are going fast! For more information and to register please go to
