HIRING - GRAPHIC DESIGN & MERCHANDISER - RUNVERMONT

POSITION OVERVIEW RunVermont seeks an experienced graphic design professional to join their team of event production staff. This position develops the organization’s internal and external branding elements, participates in the development of marketing strategy and plans, and purchases, markets and sells all event related apparel and commemorative items.

This position develops and produces all branding materials related to all RunVermont events, including but not limited to, People’s United Bank Vermont City Marathon. This is includes all printed materials, digital images, signage, event marks, and apparel. This position is a part time position requiring 20-25 hrs/wk for 10 months of the year. The position reports to the Marketing & Communications Director.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES The Graphic Design and Merchandise Manager must be a high-energy and creative individual. The ideal candidate will possess experience in several graphics platforms and project management skills. Previous experience in soft goods purchasing, pricing, marketing and merchandising will be required. S/he will know how to produce results in an environment in which building consensus and effectively collaborating with a diverse group of stakeholders is critical.

Graphics Plan and execute all branding of RunVermont events in conjunction with marketing strategies as developed with and by the Marketing & Communications Director. Plan, direct and execute all print, digital and other advertising materials as directed by the Communications Director Experience and knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop all required.

Merchandise Management Plan, purchase, market and sell all event related soft goods, apparel and commemorative items. This will include specific revenue and expense responsibilities. Operate the online store for RunVermont and associated goods.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s Degree or higher and 5+ years’ experience in graphic design, merchandising or related field. Outstanding creative, writing and editing skills. Knowledge of print production process from design through mail house. Highly developed organizational and project management skills and the ability to produce results under deadlines. Content management, digital marketing, social media and Word Press skills a plus. Ability to manage the needs and expectations of a wide variety of constituencies. Experience with and understanding of the culture of event production. Experience with running events or other sporting events strongly preferred. Available to work occasional weekends. Ability to work Memorial Day weekend is an absolute requirement.
