Hello Runners! We're psyched to be back producing live races. Last Sunday's Island Vines 5-miler went super smoothly. Beautiful day, fast course, safe racing environment, what's not to love?? Next up is our newnewnew CHAMP 5k. What's with the picture of my bike wheel? Thats your proof that the course was measured & marked this morning. It's the same course I built for the USA Triathlon national Sorint Championship in 2011-2012. Racers, I think you're going to like this course, be challenged by it, and have a chance to run a fast time.

The course is marked with green paint if you're heading down to preview. Look for "C5" to find the marks. Start & Finish is on the bikepath in Waterfront Park. After 200 yards in the park, the course kicks in right away with a climb up Depot St. Depot St is one of the steepest roads in Burlington, with one section near the top at a 15% grade, but it's less than 1/4 long. After you crest Depot St, stay north on North Ave for a mile. Most of that mile is flat, with a nice downhill and a very short uphill right before the high school. Turn left at the high school, and the next half mile, past BHS and down through the campground is super fast! That section drops almost 90'. After the campground, left turn onto the bikepath for about 1.25 miles back to Waterfront Park.

Race smartly, don't start off too aggressively, this is a pr course!!
