9-22-13 Fun Run at Shelburne Farms 106_smallReady, Set, Run!  kicked off the fall fun run season on Sunday, September 22 with a ½ , 1 and 1.5 mile run on the paths around the Coach Barn at Shelburne Farms, Shelburne, Vermont.  While the clouds were charcoal grey and threatening and the wind blew a gale (or two) off the water it didn’t stop 92 hearty runners from joining in the fun.

The morning began with a warm-up exercise lead by Sam Davis, our trusty fun run leader, some call him Speedy Sam and then we began the running.

The new 1.5 mile course was complete with scenery of fields, woodlots and tractors which enhanced the great adventure for those that wanted the longer distance.  While the ½ and 1 mile options were filled with views of the lake, the Coach Barn and secret wood chip paths.

We finished the run and everyone enjoyed a recovery glass of chocolate milk from RisenShine and cheddar cheese from Shelburne Farms.

Come join us on Saturday October 26, 2013 10:00am Catamount Family Center Trail Fun Run costumes encouraged.
