My name is Tiffany Sivco. I am married (to the man of my dreams) and the proud mom of a 7 pound Miniature Pinscher (who thinks she’s a 90 pound Rottweiler). I am a school psychologist who lives in the beautiful Hudson Valley in New York.
I started running for Team in Training in memory of my Grandpa who lost his long battle with blood cancer in 2006. My first race was supposed to be Adirondack Half but a torn meniscus set me back. Once I was back to running I decided to run a full marathon, which was KeyBank Vermont City. After finishing the race (with another unrelated injury) I told myself that was the first and last marathon I’d ever run. That lasted all of three seconds then I was planning my next marathon. I loved running Vermont City so much, the only race I could see myself running again was this one. My second time around was a PR and I was able to run with my “baby” brother (I’m 5’3″ and he is 6′ and towers over me, but he’s still the baby). Last year I ran in what felt like a winter rain storm! Despite the terrible weather conditions I had another PR beating the previous year by over 6 minutes!
This year will be my fourth Vermont City Marathon. I compare all other races to it. We make it a long weekend bring our dog (picture attached), my mom is coming to watch me run, we will eat and enjoy your beautiful city. I run because I love to run and although my grandfather was not there in person he’s been there in spirit pushing me along for 26.2 miles.
