We began offering pace leaders for the KeyBank Vermont City Marathon in 2009. This year, pace leaders are available for the following times: 3:15, 3:30, 3:45, 4:00, 4:15, 4:30, 4:45, 5:00, and 5:30.
If you’re interested in running with a pace leader or just want to know more about the program, please be sure to read this post. While registration is not required, we would love to get a sense of how many people plan to run with each SKIRACK Pace Leader. Please contact our SKIRACK Pace Team coordinator, Jack Pilla, at firstname.lastname@example.org indicating which pace group you plan to run with. No worries if you change your mind between now and race day and decide to run another pace or opt out of the Pace Team.

Congratulations to all those running the 26th Vermont City Marathon. This year will be my 26th Vermont City Marathon. Yes I have run them all. I just “Keep On Running”. I have enjoyed it so much my marathon travels have taken me to many great places around the world, Quebec City, Catalina Island, Big Sur, Iceland, Costa Rica, Mount Diablo, Mesquite Canyon Arizona, Arches National Park Moab, Colorado’s Wild West Relay and across the Alps 4 times. My wife Debbie and I will return to Ruhpolding Germany making this year our 5th trek across the Alps from Germany through Austria to the Dolomite’s in Italy this August. Long distance running has enabled us to enjoy many places in the world along with meeting many great friends along the way. We have friends we stay in touch with from Germany, Belguim, Italy, England, Korea, Israel, Brazil, Argentina, Spain, Austria, Netherlands, Scottland, Canada and of course the USA. This year we plan to run a 50k trail run in the beautiful Mesquite Canyon in Waddell Arizona and another 50k trail run at Mt Diablo, Walnut Creek California before the Vermont City. We also plan to pace a group of runners through a very long 5 hour and 30 minute Vermont City Marathon. Join Debbie and I this year and we can tell you all about it. Keep on Running is our motto. Those who complete this task with us will realize a 5:30 marathon to be no easy feat. You just try running for 5 hours and 30 minutes non-stop. We will need plenty of fluids and energy supplements. Those who run with us will be there enjoying every step of the way especially the home stretch down the final 4 miles on the bike path overlooking Lake Champlain and the Adirondack Mountains of NY. Really looking forward to meeting all of you.
Best regards, Victor Tirrito

This year marks my 32nd year of running marathons. Most recently my husband Vic and I ran the Barbados Half Marathon in December 2013. Some past marathons include the beautiful islands of Grand Cayman, Jamaica, and Maui; Tokyo, Iceland, Easter Island, Peru, England, Alaska…. I have run many trail runs….Gortex Transalpine Run stage race across the alps with my husband four times and will run again in 2014 http://en.transalpine-run.com/ Of course, my hometown marathon, The KeyBank Vermont City Marathon and Relay has always been my favorite marathon. In June I will again swim the 12.5 mile solo in the “38th Annual SWIM AROUND KEY WEST.” http://swimaroundkeywest.com Other than running, biking, and swimming I enjoy watching a good comedy and Rodney Dangerfield sure meets my expectations in his 1986 movie “Back to School.” Loved his advice to the college students on commencement day. I think the kids have taken his advice seriously. Love it!!!
Looking forward to pacing the 5:30 runners with my husband Vic (who has run and completed the past 25 marathons). Lots of fun all the way to the finish line!!!! Let’s celebrate the big 26!!!!
