We began offering pace leaders for the KeyBank Vermont City Marathon in 2009. This year, pace leaders are available for the following times: 3:15, 3:30, 3:45, 4:00, 4:15, 4:30, 4:45, 5:00, and 5:30. We’ll feature our pace team leaders here on the blog every Wednesday and Friday through March.
If you’re interested in running with a pace leader or just want to know more about the program, please be sure to read this post. While registration is not required, we would love to get a sense of how many people plan to run with each SkiRack Pace Leader. Please contact our SkiRack Pace Team coordinator, Jack Pilla, at email@example.com indicating which pace group you plan to run with. No worries if you change your mind between now and race day and decide to run another pace or opt out of the Pace Team.

Congratulations to all those running the 25th Vermont City Marathon. This will be my 25th Vermont City Marathon as well. My marathon travels have taken me to Big Sur, Iceland, Costa Rica, Mount Diablo and across the Alps 3 times. I hope to return to the Alps in August to make it four. Long distance running has enabled me to enjoy many places in the world one could only imagine on foot. Join me this year and I can tell you all about it. Keep on Running is my motto. My wife Debbie, of over 38 years, has been there with me for it all. This year we plan to run a 50k trail run in Waddell Arizona and another trail run at Mt Diablo California. We also plan to pace a group of runners through a very long 5 hour and 30 minute Vermont City Marathon. Those who complete this task with us will realize a 5:30 marathon to be no easy feat. You just try running for 5 hours and 30 minutes. We will need plenty of fluids and energy supplements. Those who run with us will know my wife Debbie and I will be there with them enjoying every step of the way. Best regards, Victor Tirrito

This year marks my 31st year of running marathons. Most recently my husband Vic and I ran the Barbados Half Marathon in December 2012. Some past marathons include the beautiful islands of Grand Cayman, Jamaica, and Maui; Tokyo, Iceland, Easter Island, Peru, England, Alaska…. I have run many trail runs….Gortex Transalpine Run stage race across the alps with my husband three times and will run again in 2013 http://en.transalpine-run.com/ Of course, my hometown marathon, The KeyBank Vermont City Marathon and Relay has always been my favorite marathon. In June I will swim 12.5 miles solo in the “37th Annual SWIM AROUND KEY WEST.” http://swimaroundkeywest.com Other then running, biking, and swimming I enjoy watching a good comedy and Rodney Dangerfield sure meets my expectations in his 1986 movie “Back to School.” Loved his advice to the college students on commencement day. I think the kids have taken his advice seriously. Love it!!!
Looking forward to pacing the 5:30 runners with my husband Vic (who has run and completed the past 24 marathons). Lots of fun all the way to the finish line!!!! Let’s celebrate the big 25!!!!
