World Run Day & GIVEAWAY THURSDAY!

in Giveaway Thursday!

Did you know that Sunday, November 6 is World Run Day?

World Run Day was founded to celebrate the sport of running worldwide. The mission is to broaden and promote the health benefits of running while also encouraging runners to donate to their own favorite charity on this special day. Since 1999, over 10,000 runners have participated in World Run Day events.

On Sunday, November 6, RunVermont and SkiRack invite you celebrate World Run Day with a FREE, fun, relaxed 5k run (NOT a race) through downtown Burlington, followed by bagels and coffee and the opportunity to win some great stuff, including running gear, race entries and even an opportunity to bypass the KBVCM relay lottery process.*

We’ll meet at SkiRack at 9:00am and take off along this course. Everyone is welcome! Bring the kids, push a stroller, run fast or run slow. This is truly all about coming together to celebrate running, getting to know a few new faces and having fun.

Visit the Facebook event page to RSVP (not required, it will just give us a sense of how many bagels to buy), and please spread the word to your friends!

We hope we’ll see you there!  Feel free to email me or Will at SkiRack with any questions.

*Speaking of GIVEAWAYS, today is Thursday, so of course we’ve got something we want to give you!  Today we’re giving away a KBVCM coffee tumbler in your choice or colors:

This 16oz tumbler is BPA free  and perfect for all your warm winter beverages.

To Enter

I think my favorite Halloween costume that I have worn was when I dressed up as a Gothic Bride. Everyone loved it.

My favorite Halloween costume I’ve ever had was probably when I was 6 and got to be G.I. Joe… my favorite part was the camouflage face paint!

My friend and I dressed up in painted TV Boxes when we were about 11, and went out trick or treating as a washer and dryer. I was the washer , (top loader) so the box had a flap . I wore an old t shirt on my head and painted my face white. At the door, I would pop out of the box a bit and scare some of the home owners!

My favorite Halloween costume was when I dressed up as a black cat (complete with tail, furry ears, and whiskers) when I was in the 6th grade. Too cute.

This Saturday, at the Team in Training Halloween Run in Shelburne, I’m wearing a female pirate costume. Black, lightweight and flowing, allowing for running tights underneath. Haven’t got a clue how it will look with my running sneakers, but it should be funny!

I really enjoyed my good friend’s costume last year… Oscar the grouch! He was covered in green (face and all) and was surrounded by a metal trash can. It made dancing difficult, but we sure had a good time!
