Congratulations to Forrest who won our last GIVEAWAY! Forrest’s favorite run is in “…Acadia National Park in Maine specifically around Eagle Lake. It has great scenery, very quiet, and the trails are groomed often.”
Speaking of favorite runs, one of mine is in Red Rocks Park in South Burlington, VT. Red Rocks is stunning in the fall, a great place to escape the heat in the summer, but a little iffy in winter. Since I typically run in the wee hours of the morning when it is still good and dark I don’t get there as often as I would like. Yesterday afternoon afforded me the rare opportunity for a sunlit afternoon run so I set off looking forward to the quiet isolation of trails. Because the sidewalks in town were clear, I went without my trusty IceSpikes. Bad idea. The trails at the start consisted of hard packed snow but changed to sheer ice as I made my way downhill. Not quite the liberating run I was after, but a run nonetheless. Tomorrow I think I’ll stick to the bikepath.
