GIVEAWAY THURSDAY!

in Giveaway Thursday!

Congratulations to Rick, winner of last week’s GIVEAWAY THURSDAY!

Before we get to today’s GIVEAWAY, I’d like to direct your attention to this post.  If you entered the KeyBank Vermont City Marathon Relay Lottery, you’ll find out next week whether your team was selected or not.  Just in case you don’t get a team (or missed the deadline to apply, or did get a team but just found out that you’re sister is getting married in Alaska on Memorial Day weekend), you’ll want to know about RunVermont’s message board. The message board is the place to go to buy a team from someone who can’t use the one they won in the lottery, to list the team you want to sell and to recruit for and/or join a team.

Message boards are perfectly intuitive for some and about as logical as a snowless Vermont winter for others. If you’re in the latter category and think you’ll want to use the message board, this post provide step-by-step instructions.  A word to both groups: it wouldn’t hurt to create a message board username and password NOW so you’re ready when the lottery results are posted.

And now, on to our GIVEAWAY

Last year I asked you how you display your race bibs and medals. I learned that at least a few of you were seeking a better option than your closet door knob.  In preparation for that post I had done a little internet research to see what types of products were out there. Taste is personal, but frankly, I wasn’t enamored with anything I saw.

Fast forward to this week when a good friend and former RunVermont team member sent me a link to a small company called Running On the Wall. Running on the Wall creates medal and bib hangers unlike any I’ve seen before:

Their design is simple and understated, but modern and wall-worthy. Best of all, the displays aren’t pumped out of a factory overseas, but are instead handmade in New York City by MeliAnna and Alex Anastasiadis using locally sourced wood and eco-friendly paints.  I’m not the only one who’s impressed; Running on the Wall was featured last August in Runner’s World.

Running on the Wall offers the option to personalize their bib and medal holders with a name:

and they even have a design specific for triathletes:

I liked Running on the Wall’s products so much that I figured it couldn’t hurt to reach out to MariAnna and Alex to see if they would be interested in giving away a bib or medal display to one lucky RunDown reader. They couldn’t have been more excited. MariAnna says she’s honored to offer one reader their choice of a medal or bib display, incl shipping. You can choose from 14 different colors, too.

To Enter:

Visit Running on the Wall’s shop and let us know which item strikes your fancy (running-related or otherwise.)

The GIVEAWAY closes at 11:59pm Wednesday, February 15; we’ll announce the winner on Thursday, February 16.

I like the “Running” Medals and “Race Bibs” holder in navy. My home decorating is simple, country style. These fit right in and Navy Blue is my favorite. Our 23rd wedding anniversary is on May 27th, the DAY of my first marathon, with my birthday following a few days later. I will be putting this on my “wish” list.
