Welcome to Marathon May! Every day from now through the Marathon (and perhaps even a few days beyond) we’ll share a new race-related FAQ here on the blog, our Facebook page and via Twitter feed. Got a question you think we should cover? Post it here, on FB or on Twitter and we’ll get right back to you.
Q: I’m already thinking about how hungry I’m going to be after the race. What are you feeding me?
A: In short: lots of good food. More specifically, full Marathoners, second-leg 2-person relay runners and last leg 3-5 person relay runners will receive water, chocolate milk and a banana within the finish corral. After exiting the corral, head north and you’ll find the Hannaford Runner’s Food Tent. Relay runners who didn’t finish in Waterfront are welcome in the Runner’s Food Tent. That’s where you’ll find Leonardo’s pizza*, Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, chips and salsa from Moe’s Southwest Grill, oranges, apples, yogurt and granola bars.
If that’s not enough to satisfy, there is also food for sale from several vendors in the park.
First-leg runners on a two-person team will be served water, chocolate milk, bagels, oranges and bananas in Oakledge Park.
*Due to course travel restrictions, Leonardo’s Pizza will not be available until 11:45. If you’ve already been through the food tent by that point, don’t fret, just come back around and we’ll let you through again for a slice.
