There are few arenas in the local running community that Sam Davis
hasn't touched. Sam currently volunteers at many athletic events
including Ready, Set, Run! and YAM Scram. Sam serves on the Youth
Committee and the YAM Scram Race Committee. As a USA Track & Field
certified coach, Sam provides consultation for runners of all ages and
abilities, including his Marathon 201 and Half Marathon class
participants. His quiet enthusiasm is motivating to kids and adults
alike. |

John Ewing, who was director or Community Relations for the Bank of Vermont in 1988, was instrumental in securing title sponsorship of the Marathon event at its inception. John eventually became President of Bank of Vermont and maintained title sponsorship for over two decades. Bank of Vermont transitioned to KeyBank in 1995.

Francis Gabel participated in every KeyBank Vermont City Marathon from 1989 through 2007. Although he did not finish the race in 2008, Francis returned and completed the race again in 2009. Francis’s KBVCM personal record is 3:13. |

Nancy is the Executive Director of Girls on the Run (GOTR) Vermont. Nancy has grown the GOTR Vermont program from fifteen participants to over 2000 athletes. Nancy is an accomplished marathon runner and mother of three who has touched the lives of countless girls, their families, and coaches. |

Larry Kimball was a coach, runner and mentor in Vermont for decades. Larry coached for Burlington High School, University of Vermont and St. Michael's College. Larry served as a member of the KeyBank Vermont City Marathon Race Committee for 20 years and also taught RunVermont's 18-week marathon training course. He has completed over 40 marathons. Larry is currently the Assistant Athletics Director at University of South Carolina, Bluffton. |

Don and Betty were recognized in 2006 for their longstanding volunteer efforts. Betty began participating as runners in the KeyBank Vermont City Marathon in 1995; Don joined her in 1996. Betty continues to run the full Marathon; Don participates on a 2-Person Relay Team. |

Scott Lamothe was recognized in 2007 for his contributions to RunVermont’s Junior Youth Relay (JYR) Teams. Scott has coordinated and coached the JYR since 2002. |

Gordon MacFarland was one of five founding members who had the idea of creating a marathon event in the city of Burlington in 1988. Gordon served as the first race director for the KeyBank Vermont City Marathon. |

 | Bob O'Brien
Bob O'Brien, a native Vermonter, is one of the founding members of the Key Bank VCM. He worked on the race the first three years before moving to the Midwest. Bob has run the marathon each year and has a PR of 3:02. The first VCM was also Bob's first marathon and last years 24th VCM was his 100th marathon. Bob lives in a van down by the river. . |

Andréa Sisino was the wizard behind the curtain of the KeyBank Vermont City Marathon from 1991-2009. It was her vision, dedication and tremendous ability to develop a community-owned event that made KBVCM one of the best loved marathons in the country. In addition to growing KBVCM, she led RunVermont to expand its mission, developing programs and events that served the broader community, including running classes, the Lake Champlain Women’s Running Camp, ManyMilers, YAM Scram and the Half Marathon Unplugged.
