Youth Programs:

Ready, Set, Run!

Ready, Set, Run! (RSR!) is back and better than ever. Join in the fun! While enrolled in Ready, Set, Run! your child will learn about and practice fitness, good nutrition, citizenship, and goal setting all while having fun and being safe. We welcome children to participate in RSR! as part of a “Tracking Group" or as Individual with a helping adult.  “Tracking Groups” are simply groups of participants who meet weekly with their RSR! Leader.  The Leader gives your child an organized way to get motivated, educated and helps children keep track of their progress in the RSR! program. “Individual” participation is available for children unable to join a Tracking Group.

Spring 2013 Tracking Groups are forming now for children ages 4-12.

If your child is participating individually the helping adult can provide guidance with RSR! materials.

How it Works For Tracking Groups:
  • We provide a “Leader Manual” with 12 weeks of lessons and fun activities, including a tracking calendar for each participant.
  • Groups meet weekly (or twice a week) for an hour at a location to be determined by the Leader(s).
  • Participants use the tracking calendar to chart their healthy eating and “helping hands” (citizenship activities), record their program goals and log their fitness miles.
  • Participants submit miles to the RunVermont office monthly.
  • In addition to mileage incentives, a t-shirt, medal and finisher’s certificate, participants receive monthly newsletters filled with activity ideas, citizenship challenges and tasty recipes.
  • Participants are encouraged to participate in our spring fun runs: Champ on Church and the Spring Festival of Fun (see details below)

How it Works For Individuals:
  • We provide a “Parent Manual” with 12 weeks of lessons and fun activities, including a tracking calendar for each participant.
