Position Overview RunVermont seeks an experienced event management professional to join their team. This position is responsible for the coordination and execution of all event production elements associated with the provision of runner, spectator and volunteer services for all RunVermont events including, contract race services, FirstRun 5K, Half Marathon Unplugged, Island Vines 10k, Ready, Set, Run Youth events and the People’s United Bank Vermont City Marathon.

This position is a part time position requiring 20-25 hrs/wk for 11 months of the year.

The position reports to the Director of Race Operations.

Specific Responsibilities The Operations & Logistics Manager must be a high-energy and creative individual. The ideal candidate will possess experience in race and or large event production. Previous experience in the non-profit sector preferred. S/he will know how to produce results in an environment in which building consensus and effectively collaborating with a diverse group of stakeholders is critical.

FirstRun 5K, Half-Unplugged and Island Vines 10K • Plan, procure and execute the support services for all event venue and course locations • Serve as liaison with all host sites and associated agencies • Plan, procure and execute pre and post-race services for runners and volunteers alike. This includes, but is not limited to, venue set-up and breakdown, water, food and beverage services, comfort services, first aid services, transportation services and other supporting logistics. • Recruit, train and serve as a point of contact for all volunteers working in the aforementioned services

People’s United Bank Vermont City Marathon • Plan, procure and execute the support services for all event venue locations and serve as liaison with all host sites including all parks that are used as event venues. This will include the provisioning of all venue locations with tents, port-o-lets, fencing & crowd control structures. • Plan, procure and coordinate the food and beverage services for all applications within the event structure including:

o Post race Food – liaison with all food sponsors and coordination with the Quartermaster for the pick up and delivery of all related functions. This includes Runner Food, VIP Food, Volunteer Food & Medical Food.

o Aid Stations - Plan, purchase, coordinate and distribute all materials that are utilized by the Aid Stations for the race market and sell all event related soft goods, apparel and commemorative items.

This will include specific revenue and expense responsibilities. • Gear Check – plan and coordinate all runner gear check services • Race Day Shuttle Services – plan, coordinate and execute all race day shuttle services including hotel shuttles pre and post-race and all relay shuttle services • Trash, Recycling and Green Team Services – plan, coordinate and execute all services for refuse & recycling collections related to the event in association with the event’s Green Team volunteers. • Plan, procure and coordinate all musical and entertainment initiatives for the marathon event. • Plan and procure all rental service vehicles required for the execution of the event. • Information Services - Recruit, train and serve as a point of contact for all volunteers working as Information volunteers at the event venue locations.

Contract Race Services • Plan and provide all event support services as defined by the terms of each event’s specific contract. • Recruit, train and serve as a point of contact for all volunteers working in the contracted services • Assist with registration, runner services, timing services, event set-up and event tear down as needed

Desired Experience • Bachelor’s Degree or higher and 5+ years experience in running event production or similar field • Highly developed organizational and project management skills and the ability to produce results under deadlines • Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Database programs. • Ability to manage the needs and expectations of a wide variety of constituencies • Available to work occasional weekends. Ability to work Memorial Day weekend is an absolute requirement. • Ability to lift 50+ lbs
