Hi, when people say that they are selling or buying a team, are they really transferring money between people?

I looked a the "how to" on the web site and it seems like that doesn't happen. All the other person does is transfer the reservation code, right?

Hi Joe-

The financial side of any relay team transfer is 100% between the buyer and seller, the RunVermont office is completely outside that transaction. All we ask is that teams not be sold for more than the original price. We do not want this to turn into a case of people paying large sums for a team just because that is where supply/demand falls. As we've said from when we began to allow transfers, if that starts to happen we reserve the right to end the transfer process.

When a transfer does happen the reservation code can simply be given by the seller to the buyer. The reservation code is the key to being able to register your team.
