Church Service:

Interfaith Service:

This ecumenical service on race day will be a time for prayer and song and asking for blessings for the runners as they challenge themselves and each other in the event.

When: Sunday, May 24, 7:15-7:30 a.m.  Runners and supporters of all faiths are invited to attend.

Where: St. Paul's Cathedral on the corner of Battery and Pearl Streets (1/2 block from the Start Line).

Start and Finish Parks:

Start Area - Battery Park

The start line is located on Battery Street next to Battery Park. There will be over 4000 runners at the start line so we recommend you give yourself plenty of time to get there. Runners are asked to line up according to race pace. Pace signs will be visible in the start area.

The wheeled participants start at 8:00 a.m. and the Marathon and Marathon Relay start at 8:03 a.m.

Finish Area - Waterfront Park (located at the west end of College Street at Lake Champlain)

Once you cross the finish line and have your finish line photo taken, you will be ushered to the ChampionChip® removal station. Attaching the ChampionChip® to your shoe with the ziptie we provide will make removal quicker. As soon as your Chip is removed, you will move to a gate where marathoners and 2-person relay finishers receive a medal. You then exit the finish area gate where a volunteer will hand you water and a foil blanket that is helpful for regulating your body temperature.

We ask that you clear away from the finish area as soon as you can to make room for other finishers.

As soon as possible pick up any baggage that you left at Baggage Claim.

Waterfront Finish Area Festivities (located at the west end of College Street at Lake Champlain)

Join us Sunday, May 24 starting at 10:00 a.m. for the post-race festival. Come celebrate at the finish area in Waterfront Park with Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks as a dramatic backdrop. From the runners’ food tent to fare from local vendors, there will be plenty to eat for everyone.

There will be a band and barbecue.  Those 21 years and older may get one complimentary beer with your bib; you must have an ID and your bib, no exceptions.

Meeting Friends and Family After the Race

We recommend that you pick a meeting place in advance of marathon day and away from the action at the finish line. Be sure that participants and family members alike can locate it on the maps in the Runner & Guest Handbook. Here are some good places for runners and loved ones to reunite:
•    Ben and Jerry’s booth in Waterfront Park
•    Boathouse near Waterfront Park
•    Totem Pole at Battery Park
•    Beansie’s Bus at Battery Park
•    ECHO Center near Waterfront Park

Great places to watch:

Battery Park: See Runners at the Start, miles 3.3, 8.7 and 15.1

Church Street: Runners pass through at miles 2.5 and 9.

Oakledge Park: Two person relay exchange with food and entertainment.
